About Alice

(She/Her)

Alice Figueroa is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, CDC Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, and cookbook author who is passionate about promoting universal access to nutrition support, health services, and wholesome foods for all segments of society.

Alice earned a Masters of International and Community Public Health from New York University, where she also completed her Dietetic and Nutrition credentials. She completed a Dietetic Medical Nutrition Therapy Internship through Queens College in NYC, where she specialized in management of infectious diseases and HIV/AID nutrition.

Her mission is to empower her patients to find food freedom, ditch chronic dieting, and heal their relationship with their bodies. Her focus is to provide trauma-informed medical nutrition therapy to individuals healing from eating disorders /disordered eating while also managing other chronic conditions like diabetes and pre diabetes. She is particularly committed to bringing culturally-rich and culturally-humble nutrition support to Black, Indigenous and People of Color and provides nutrition education and counseling in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Alice loves spending her days going on adventures in New York City and New Orleans – looking for the perfect cup of coffee/matcha, searching for scrumptious food, blending green smoothies, cooking new recipes with her farmers market finds, and playing with her cats.

From Alice: I am eager to bring a holistic and culturally humble approach to the management of chronic conditions, including diabetes, prediabetes, and insulin resistance, that allows patients to explore wellness without the stress of judgment and restriction. I facilitate improved nutritional health and positive behavioral changes in my clients by combining my expertise as a registered dietitian, natural foods chef, and yoga instructor to create wellness programs that focus on empowering clients to explore mindful nutrition, intuitive eating, meditation, conscious movement, and health supportive cooking.
