Course Main Course

Ingredients

  • 4 4-6oz skin-on salmon filets
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, divided
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp cilantro, finely chopped
  • pinch flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Pat salmon dry and place, skin-side down, in a medium bowl. Coat filets with cracked black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
  • In a large nonstick pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the salmon, skin-side down, and cook until skin releases from the pan easily, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and carefully flip filets. Continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until your desired level of doneness.
  • Top the cooked salmon filets with the remaining 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, cilantro, and a pinch of flaky sea salt.

Notes

Variations:
  • For a zesty kick, add a dash of red pepper flakes or chili powder to the seasoning.
  • Or you can swap the cilantro with fresh dill or parsley for a different herbal twist.
Tips:
  • To achieve perfectly crispy skin, ensure the salmon filets are thoroughly dry before cooking and use a hot nonstick pan.
  • Consider adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil to the completed dish for an extra burst of flavor
