Diabetes Digital was founded by Wendy Lopez, MS, RDN, CDCES, and Jessica Jones, MS, RD, CDCES, co-founders of the inclusive wellness platform & podcast, Food Heaven. Wendy and Jessica are nationally recognized Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists with over 20 years of combined experience in clinical nutrition.
A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a highly trained and qualified healthcare professional specializing in nutrition and dietetics. They hold at least a bachelor’s degree, with many pursuing advanced degrees such as a Master’s or Ph.D. To become an RD, individuals must complete a supervised dietetic internship, gaining practical experience in clinical settings, community health programs, and food service management. Afterward, they must pass a rigorous national exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Some states also require RDs to obtain state licensure. RDs are nutrition experts, possessing in-depth knowledge of food science, physiology, and the role of nutrition in health and disease.
Our team of registered dietitians has been carefully selected for their expertise and commitment to evidence-based diabetes care. They come from diverse backgrounds with extensive clinical experience, ensuring that you receive well-rounded and culturally sensitive support on your path to better health.
Our commitment to providing individualized, inclusive, and comprehensive virtual nutrition counseling sets Diabetes Digital apart. Our dedicated team of Registered Dietitians is passionate about empowering you with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed choices for your health. No, our approach is not one size fits all. We understand that each individual’s needs and goals are unique. That’s why we offer personalized counseling, tailored meal planning, and 1:1 messaging with your Registered Dietitian to ensure our services are customized to meet your specific requirements. We aim to provide individualized support and guidance on your journey to effective diabetes management and prevention.
We prioritize a weight-inclusive approach at Diabetes Digital because we recognize that health is multifaceted and cannot be solely determined by a number on the scale. Research suggests that focusing solely on weight loss can lead to short-term results that may not be sustainable and can even have negative consequences for mental and physical health. Instead, we emphasize improving your overall health and well-being by fostering a positive relationship with food, promoting mindful eating, and addressing the factors that impact your health, such as nutrition, physical activity, and mental health.
Currently, we operate in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
We are expanding our coverage and adding more states regularly to make our services accessible to individuals across the United States.
At Diabetes Digital, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive suite of services to empower individuals to manage and prevent diabetes effectively. We specialize in offering comprehensive care for individuals dealing with diabetes, including Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as those at risk with prediabetes. However, we are continuously exploring opportunities to expand our offerings to a broader audience in the future. For our self-pay membership, you receive two in-depth monthly sessions and one support group session.
