Cecilia Cruz is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a background in nonprofit work, where she has provided essential nutrition support to vulnerable and underserved communities in San Francisco.
Her passion for helping individuals heal their relationships with food is rooted in the belief that “food is medicine.” This philosophy has guided her away from labeling foods as “good” or “bad,” understanding that such labels can lead to feelings of shame and guilt. Recognizing that healing one’s relationship with food is a multi-layered journey, Cecilia sees her role as a supportive guide, empowering clients to set sustainable health goals that resonate with their unique needs.
With her Hispanic heritage, Cecilia brings a deep appreciation for cultural foods and the shared tradition of meals, which she recognizes as integral to health and well-being. This background informs her approach to diabetes care, which respects and honors each individual’s experiences.
Cecilia also understands the importance of language in healthcare and is pleased to offer support in both Spanish and English, ensuring clients can engage in a language that feels most comfortable to them.
Her favorite activities include camping, hiking, decorating for the holidays, and bringing friends and family together around food.
