Hello! I’m Cecilia Cruz, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a background in nonprofit work, where I’ve provided essential nutrition support to vulnerable and underserved communities in San Francisco.
My passion for helping individuals heal their relationship with food is rooted in the belief that “food is medicine.” This philosophy has guided me away from labeling foods as “good” or “bad,” understanding that such labels can lead to feelings of shame and guilt. I recognize that healing one’s relationship with food is a multi-layered journey and see my role as a supportive guide, empowering clients to set sustainable health goals that resonate with their unique needs.
My Hispanic heritage brings me a deep appreciation for cultural foods and the shared tradition of meals, which I recognize as integral to health and well-being. This informs my approach to diabetes care, which respects and honors each individual’s experience.
I also understand the importance of language in healthcare and am pleased to offer support in both Spanish and English, ensuring clients can engage in a language that feels most comfortable to them.
My favorite activities include camping, hiking, decorating for the holidays, and bringing friends and family together around food.
