About India

(She/Her)

Hey there! I’m India Washington, MPH, RDN, a Registered Dietitian based in Austin, Texas, passionate about helping you build a more peaceful, confident, and sustainable relationship with food while honoring the foods, traditions, and experiences that make you who you are.

My passion for nutrition is rooted in both community care and cultural connection. With a background in public health, clinical nutrition, and community food systems, I understand that food is so much more than nutrients—it’s comfort, culture, family, and identity. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and judgment free, helping you find realistic ways to nourish your body without feeling restricted or overwhelmed.

I believe nutrition should feel approachable, inclusive, and empowering. Rather than focusing on rigid rules or perfection, I work with you to create small, meaningful habits that fit your lifestyle and support your long term health. My areas of specialty include diabetes, prediabetes, PCOS, pregnancy nutrition, and cultural foodways.

Using evidence based guidance and a coaching style approach, I tailor our work to your unique goals, preferences, and lived experiences. Together, we’ll focus on building sustainable habits, improving your relationship with food, and helping you feel more connected to your health in a way that feels realistic and enjoyable.

Outside of work, I love exploring new coffee shops, going on walks with my husky Bella, and trying snacks and foods from around the world. I’m so excited to support you on your journey and help you discover that healthy eating can feel flexible, fulfilling, and culturally connected.

What Patients Say About India

India creates such a welcoming and supportive environment. I always feel heard and understood, never judged. She takes the time to learn about my lifestyle and what feels realistic for me, and her guidance is practical, approachable, and easy to apply. The small changes she suggested have had a huge impact on my energy and overall well being.
Working with India completely changed the way I think about food. I used to believe I had to give up the foods that are meaningful to my culture in order to be healthy, but she helped me find balance in a way that still honored those traditions. Her approach feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable, which made it so much easier to build healthier habits without feeling restricted.
