Hi! I’m Tiana Lavin (she/her), a Registered Dietitian based in San Diego, CA with a focus on diabetes care. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 21, my personal journey with this condition has fueled my passion for helping others navigate their health with empathy and insight. I understand firsthand the importance of feeling seen and supported and strive to create a non-judgmental space for my clients.
My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and meeting each person where they are to foster sustainable health habits that align with their unique lifestyles. My dedication to diabetes care extends to areas like building self-management skills, exploring diabetes technology such as CGMs, and finding individualized solutions that feel empowering and accessible.
I earned my credentials as a Registered Dietitian through a rigorous academic and experiential path, enriched by my lived experience with diabetes. When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring the vibrant San Diego food scene, hiking along California’s coastlines, and spending time with friends and family.
My counseling style is centered around creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to meet your health goals. I believe in individualizing care to fit your unique needs, preferences, and lifestyle. My role is to support and guide you, providing evidence-based recommendations and encouragement as we work through challenges and celebrate progress. Together, we’ll set realistic goals and make adjustments as needed, empowering you to feel confident in making sustainable changes.
