About Tiana

(She/Her)

Hi! I’m Tiana Lavin (she/her), a Registered Dietitian based in San Diego, CA with a focus on diabetes care. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 21, my personal journey with this condition has fueled my passion for helping others navigate their health with empathy and insight. I understand firsthand the importance of feeling seen and supported and strive to create a non-judgmental space for my clients.

My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and meeting each person where they are to foster sustainable health habits that align with their unique lifestyles. My dedication to diabetes care extends to areas like building self-management skills, exploring diabetes technology such as CGMs, and finding individualized solutions that feel empowering and accessible.

I earned my credentials as a Registered Dietitian through a rigorous academic and experiential path, enriched by my lived experience with diabetes. When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring the vibrant San Diego food scene, hiking along California’s coastlines, and spending time with friends and family.

My counseling style is centered around creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to meet your health goals. I believe in individualizing care to fit your unique needs, preferences, and lifestyle. What Patients Say About Tiana

My experience with the team has been amazing and exactly what I was looking for. I love chatting about food and recipes with Tiana and it feels like I’m chatting with a friend when we talk. She takes such a joy in how she views food and has the nutritional knowledge to back it up which makes her a great fit for me. Also, I recommend checking out the site. As a Jamaican, I’m happy to see ethnic foods factored into the conversation and food lists. Lastly, try the recipes on the site. The salsa verde chicken is a hit in my house.
I enjoy meeting Tiana and I liked her approach. She explained the 12-week diabetes education process I am starting using language that I could easily understand. She was a very good listener to me and asked thoughtful questions about my journey so far.
I appreciate Tiana sharing her personal journey regarding diabetes.
Thank you for being so encouraging and putting my mind at ease. I felt so lost when I received my initial diagnosis and now I feel more empowered to take control of my health.
It was a very warm and welcoming experience. Thanks for making me feel seen and heard!
