I’m Lauryn (she/her), a Registered Dietitian with a background in international relations, community nutrition, non-profit work, and eating disorder care (PHP/IOP and outpatient levels of care).I specialize in supporting people navigating prediabetes, Type 2 diabetes, PCOS, disordered eating, body image concerns, and general nutrition counseling—especially when those conditions overlap or complications are present.
My passion for nutrition is deeply rooted in my background which has led me to work from a weight-inclusive, intuitive eating, and Health at Every Size (HAES®) approach. My clients aren’t looking for a diet. They’re looking for something deeper: support, knowledge, and a flexible plan that actually fits into real life. Most of the people I work with are women of color, queer folks, and people in larger bodies—college students figuring out their health for the first time, working adults with busy lives, or people in their 40s, 50s, or 60s who’ve been through every diet and are done. Some have ADHD, anxiety, or other mental health concerns, and many have spent years feeling judged or dismissed in medical spaces. My clients want something different—and they find it here
I’m a Black millennial woman, and a California native (San Fernando Valley, hey!). My lived experiences—growing up around diet culture, seeing chronic conditions affect my family, and navigating a healthcare system that often overlooks people like us—influence how I show up as a provider: with compassion, flexibility, and no judgment.Outside of work, I’m usually hiking, camping, at the beach, exploring places around me, going out to restaurants, or hanging with my dog and partner.
Nutrition therapy with me is collaborative, individualized, and rooted in mutual respect. We’ll talk through your routines, preferences, medical history, and relationship with food. I’ll teach you foundational nutrition concepts, help you understand your labs, and create personalized strategies that support your goals—not anyone else’s agenda. We’ll laugh, maybe even cry, but
l use tools like motivational interviewing, CBT-based strategies, abundance mindset, and good old-fashioned curiosity. I’ll help you build skills that last, celebrate your wins, and move toward better health without restriction or shame.
I just believe in meeting people where they are and supporting progress, not perfection.
